Suor Maria Giuseppa received in her initial intuition the gift of the call to establish an Institute of sisters to work with her in the Church.
IThe Lord confirmed this intuition by giving her sisters, and with them she began the first fraternity in L’Aquila in 1870. Suor Maria Giuseppa, like St. Francis, rejoices and recognizes that the Lord gave her sisters. TSuch awareness lives, by the grace of the Spirit, in us today, sustaining us in living in fraternity, striving to be builders of communion and assuming more and more sharing as a way of life and family relationships.
The fraternity is the vital place for us, where our vocation grows and develops, the life of consecration and mission can be fulfilled with truth, accepting us as God’s gift to each other and giving our lives back to God and our brothers and sisters.
The commitment to live the vows draws help from the fraternal life and strengthens the spiritual bond between us:

obedience unifies us in seeking and fulfilling God's one will

poverty frees us inwardly, to dispose us to love our sisters, in a mutual giving and receiving

chastity makes us capable of a more authentic and deeper brotherly love that comes from God.

In the life of fraternity

- according to Francis' intuition

sisters in the Spirit must love one another more than sisters in the flesh

(cf. Franciscan Sources 91; 1 R 77).

That is why in the profession formula that so intensely summarizes the main dimensions of our life, we affirm that we trust in the fraternal help of the sisters to seek and live the will of God.
