Yesterday, Thursday, May 9, the XXV General Chapter of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Infant Jesus concluded. The day began with a Eucharistic Celebration in the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels presided by fr. Simone Ceccobao, OFM. “Totally dedicated to the Word,” this was Fr. Simone’s wish to the Capitolari in his homily, taking the expression from the first reading used to describe St. Paul. Like St. Francis, marked by the wounds of the Risen Christ, the FMIJ sisters are also called to bring God’s love to the world and that is why it is not the final day for all the Capitolari, but a new beginning, a sending out.
In the afternoon, after a morning of work, the official concluding acts of the Chapter took place followed by a moment of sharing and greetings during which a symbol, a small handmade baby Jesus from Bolivia, from the “Children’s Hogar”.
With the final words of Mo. Lorella Veri, we thank the Lord and “remain marked by Love, as sisters and mothers, in the amazement that opens to praise.” Happy journey!
